Okay, just so we're all on the same page, there's no meeting tonight due to Applebees celebrating of Kim. The majority of people have said this to me, so I'm assuming that ya'll already know this, but I figured I would just make sure.
Because so many of us are gamers, I figured this might be appropro for the group. I read this for creative writing last semester and I totally recommend it.

When do we want to make the meeting day/time?
I have class Monday nights...
I prefer Tuesday or Wednesday because Jason has class and Guys nights...
I would like to change it to Not Thursday, because I'm done at 1:30 and may not feel like making a special trip back to campus later in the evening... but I could probably be persuaded if that is what everyone else wants?
Just letting you guys know that lostsouldier has requested to be let in. Another person from Florida who wants to join? *shrugs*
I'll probably end up explaining that we're an actual group from the UP (as it says in the profile) and that we don't really accept outside members, but I thought you guys might be interested in knowing.
Hey guys, this is a questioning post about the possibility of inviting Diandra to join? She's an English major and could possibly use a few more things to do on campus.
Reply with a yes, no, maybe, any questions... Whatever!
Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know that I'm not going to be at the meeting tomorrow! I nearly (as in until the beginning of this week) forgot that tomorrow is Tony's birthday, and I'd really like to spend it with him, as much as classes allow, anyway.
Hope you guys have a good meeting! See you all Sunday!
Just in case anyone else was interested. In particular, the FAQs are entertaining.
Live. Write about what you live. Then write about what you’ve never lived. Write about what you could never live. Write about what no one else could live.
Just write. I’m not going to tell you to live your entire life around writing, just… make some life for your writing. Don’t let yourself say that you’re too tired or too busy or you’ll never get it done and you’ll likely not write again until you’re middle aged or older and want to know what happened to your life. If you write now, you’ll know what happened in your life, to your life, because it will all be right there on paper.
Write what you like to write. Write ALL that you like to write. Fiction, fantasy, Sci Fi, journalism, non-ficiton, short stories, novels, novellas, poems, songs, speeches… Just write what you like. Then write what you don’t like, or don’t think you like. You might change your mind if the situation’s changed. Yes, write a speech, by write it knowing you’ll never have to stand up in front of people and actually speak it yourself. Yes, write a poem knowing that it’s your secret poem and you don’t have to share it with anyone you don’t want to.
Then maybe you’ll like it better. Maybe if there’s not someone saying that you HAVE to do this or you HAVE to share it, maybe it’ll be some small jewel of freedom that you won’t find anywhere else. Maybe it’ll be your secret identity like Clark Kent or Diana Prince. Maybe you’ll find the ONE line in that song that completes that short story that you just didn’t know how to end.
Maybe not. But how will you know if you don’t try? How can you let the possibility of finishing that short story and maybe getting it out there for publishing and awards go by just because you’ve told yourself that you don’t write songs. All that I ask of you is that you try. Try and write, try and enjoy it, and try to live.
so many words buzzing around in my head.
song lyrics, lists of absurdities,
but none that will find a home on paper.
none that will settle down and become concrete.
hum. a beat. 4/4 count. 1 .2 .3. 4.
"someone call the ambulance!"
droning around like a gnat.
incessant like poking needles in the same spot.
a nazi nurse, slam the needle in. ow!! don't touch me!
digital and metallic are favorite words that float around like an anvil in the air.
no matter what is done or said, it can't stop.
just those words smashing around, wreaking havoc on a 'touched' mind
rallying the natives to stage a coup
makes the brain hurt, rattle with envy, and march to the beat. 1. 2. 3. 4.
left. right. left. right.
battle of wits, the final fight for sanity.
tainted and lured by lyrical distractions
murder of words, slaying of ideas
believe in the massacre. fire! fire! fire!
soldier, muster, defeat
compulsions to count
